‘Pay the amount or vacate said premises’: After Losing $1B, Kanye West Reportedly So Broke He Can’t Even Pay 2 Months’ Rent of $63K Yeezy HQ, Being Evicted
Kanye West’s net worth took quite an unbelievable dive in an astonishingly short period. He went from being a billionaire to someone who is now struggling to pay rent. Yeezy had to bear quite a brunt after its founder made offensive anti-Semitic remarks while also claiming that Adidas cannot break its ties with him or his fashion brand even if he said anti-Semitic stuff. Adidas did not take this lightly and cut ties instantaneously, and several others followed suit. And the brand was left hanging by a loose thread with its owner losing over a billion of his worth.
Kanye West got slammed with an eviction notice
As per the latest updates, Kanye West is having trouble managing rent for Yeezy’s Los Angeles offices. The Nation Newspaper has reported that the rent for 2 months amounts to $63,254.
The owner of the building, CT Calabasas has issued an eviction notice to the Grammy winner that read,
“Within three days of service of this notice, you must pay the amount of said rent in full or vacate said premises and deliver possession thereof to the authorized agent for your landlord. If you fail to pay or abandon, legal proceedings will be instituted against you for possession of the premises, forfeiture of the lease and for money damages as permitted by law.
West has had the aforementioned LA office on rent since 2015, originally leased at $31,477 per month. Back then Yeezy was called West Brands Fashion. But both the brand and the designer have come a long unwinding way.
The possible eviction isn’t the only indicator of the fashion brand being in shambles. As per several reports, there is “chaos and a toxic and abusive work environment.”
The company is rife with “abrupt and continuous layoffs, bullying and humiliation tactics, and a cult-like environment where sycophancy thrived.”
The Bound 2 rapper has had quite a hard year already, with his divorce getting finalized and Kim Kardashian getting major custody of the kids while West has to pay high child support every month despite the SKIMS founder being a billionaire herself. Add to that his troubles with Twitter, and his brand’s controversies. And yet it seems he has got more bad news to face before the year comes to an end.
