‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘The End of the F***ing World’ Execs Unite for Epic New Historical TV Series
The executives of Peaky Blinders and End of the F***ing World are coming together to make a historical new show. While the former series was first released in 2013, it went on to release six seasons and was brought to a close in 2022, the latter was released in 2017 and has only two seasons.
Both TV shows have been critically lauded and are quite popular among fans as well along with winning many awards. Interestingly, the makers of both TV shows are now coming together to offer fans a new series whose release date is yet to be announced.
What is the name of the TV show being made by Peaky Blinders and End of the F***ing World executives?
The producer of Peaky Blinders, Caryn Mandabach Productions, and the director of End of the F***ing World, Jonathan Entwistle are joining forces to create, Civil Blood. The highly anticipated TV show will be set in 17th-century England. The plot of the show will revolve around the adventures of a young woman growing up in a time of war. The project is written by Hirst and Cat Clarke and is based on an original idea by the pair with Dario Poloni.

Speaking about Civil Blood, the director of the show, Jonathan Entwistle revealed how the show is about a period of history which is “not often explored”. He had this to say via Deadline:
“This script has history, heart, family, and war – all wrapped up in a punk attitude. This is a period of history not often explored, and certainly not from this point of view. There’s a sense of the American West in this world. At its heart is an iconic lead with a great pop sensibility – someone who thinks that history only happens to other people, until cataclysmic events bring history rushing in to the present.”
Is there a Peaky Blinders movie in the works?
The creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight announced back in January 2021 that there will be a Peaky Blinders movie. While fans have been waiting for the same since the completion of the show in 2022, there seems to be no progress as of yet.
Speaking about the same during an interview with GQ earlier this year, Cillian Murphy who plays the lead role in Peaky Blinders had this to say:
“If there’s more story there, I’d love to do it, but it has to be right. Steve Knight wrote thirty-six hours of television, and we left on such a high. I’m really proud of that last series. So, it would have to feel legitimate and justified to do more.”
It’s safe to say that there has been little to no progress made regarding a Peaky Blinders movie and it will be interesting to see if any is made in the near future.
