However, season two hasn’t arrived yet but there were rumors surrounding the next chapter. In the recent Emmy Awards, Pedro Pascal’s show won a total of eight Emmys, leaving fans in amazement.

Pedro Pascal is among the most lauded actors in recent years, who has landed numerous notable roles. Last year, the PlayStation adaptation was critically acclaimed not only for its thrilling story but also for its stunning visual representation that reminds fans about how engaging the game is. The drama has managed to secure eight awards for different categories in the recent Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

The Last of Us follows the original story of the video game, depicting the harrowing pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection and leading human hosts to transform into aggressive zombies. Fans were amazed to witness the thrill that Pascal’s show brought to life, and as the show won several awards, fans expressed their excitement through social media posts notable X (earlier Twitter).

Pedro Pascal plays the leading man in HBO’s The Last of Us who develops a bond with the little girl Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) while guiding her through the ruined United States, affected by the infection.

The Last of Us Earns Storm Reid Her First Emmy Award

Storm Reid portrays Riley Abel in the drama series and has won her first Emmy Award for Best Drama Guest Actress. The Award show has been suffering delays since last year, and now that it has finally arrived, it honored The Last of Us in the best way possible.

According to Deadline, while receiving her award, Reid said:

“I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into when I signed on to be Riley in The Last of Us. I knew it was going to be special, but I didn’t know it was gonna be quite this special. I’m just so grateful to the show for allowing me to really, re-fall in love with storytelling”

Expressing her gratitude and excitement about her win, the actress added:

“It’s not that I fell out of love with storytelling, but I think my role in The Last of Us really reinforced my love and passion to be able to tell meaningful stories and to be a representation for young women, young Black women, young, queer Black women. I’m grateful to Bella, Craig [Mazin], and the entire team for making the show.”

While thanking the makers, Storm Reid mentioned being a fan of The Last of Us even if the makers had not given her the role of Riley Abel.
