“People don’t act in these shows..why are they saying yes?”: Emilia Clarke Had Enough of Marvel and DCU Haters Who Refuse to Give Credit to Superhero Movies
Emilia Clarke rose to fame after starring in the fantasy show Game of Thrones. The actress portrayed Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled princess turned fierce Mother of Dragons. The HBO series became a blockbuster as fans were hooked on it for eight seasons. Clarke was also part of two other very popular franchises. She played Qi’ra, Han Solo’s mysterious and lethal ex-friend in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), and an alternate timeline Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys (2015).
The Me Before You actress has now set foot in one of the biggest franchises. Clarke made her debut in MCU as her new series Secret Invasion made its way to Disney+. Marvel has produced blockbuster movies over the years and has majorly used green screens. Many actors who have been part of the franchise have spoken about their experience of working in front of the green screen. Some have slammed these actors, calling it not real acting. Emilia Clarke has finally expressed her views and shared her experience.

Emilia Clarke shuts out people who talk nasty about Marvel
Emilia Clarke recently entered the billion-dollar MCU franchise. The actress, who rose to fame after starring in Game of Thrones, made her debut in Marvel through Secret Invasion. Marvel was under the radar as people and some fellow actors claimed that people who act in front of a green screen are not acting.
The freshly entered star in the franchise dismissed these claims and the people talking nasty about the MCU. She shared her experience while shooting for the Disney+ series. The Me Before You actress who has experience working on films where cast members have interacted with green screens, shared her perspective on the misunderstanding. She said,
“The stigma is that people don’t do any acting in these shows. And then you’re like, ‘Well, then why are they asking all these great actors to do it, and why are they saying yes?”
The 36-year-old shed light on the fact that Marvel is still able to attract big-name actors for its numerous films and TV episodes even though it is well-known that they employ green screens.
Emilia Clarke’s comment comes years after Marvel stars like Anthony Hopkins, who played Odin in the first three Thor movies, and Christian Bale, who played Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder, made controversial comments on green screen acting.
Emilia Clarke joins MCU with Secret Invasion
Emilia Clarke joined the biggest franchise, and this marks her first television role since wrapping production of Game of Thrones in 2018. The actress plays Gi’ah, daughter of Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos in MCU’s Secret Invasion.
The plot of the series revolves around a faction of the Skrull, alien exiles who have been stranded on Earth since the events of 2019’s Captain Marvel, who want to replace humans and rule the planet. The Skrulls are prepared to take matters into their own hands after patiently waiting for Nick Fury (Jackson) to fulfill his pledge to locate the Skrull a new home for thirty years.
The extraterrestrial political spy thriller is created for television by Kyle Bradstreet and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, and Emilia Clarke.
