Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood producer has been sentenced to 16 more years of imprisonment after being convicted of s*xually attacking an actress in Beverly Hills hotel room. During the Film Festival in February 2013, the brutal incident took place which was later reported in the New York trial in 2019. The disgraced producer was further charged with several other r*pe and misconduct claims from the 1970s.

The once Hollywood power mogul, Harvey Weinstein claimed innocent of any s*xual crimes or misconduct during his trials in Los Angeles. The 70-year-old even begged before the jury after being sentenced to 16 years imprisonment consecutive to his 23 years prison sentence for his other crimes.

Ex-film producer Harvey Weinstein was previously charged with s*xual assault, battery, and misconduct during his New York and Los Angeles trials. Weinstein was presented in the court against five victims who maintained anonymity with the name, Jane Doe. During his 2019 New York trials against Jane Doe 1 to 5, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years imprisonment. 

Further, Harvey Weinstein was presented in the Los Angeles court in front of the jury for his crimes against Jane Doe 1. During the trial, the Hollywood mogul was found guilty of his crimes and was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment consecutive to his previous prison sentence of 23 years.

Weinstein begged for mercy from the jury, saying,

Please don’t sentence me to life in prison. I don’t deserve it.”

The disgraced producer denied identifying the victim and added,

I maintain that I’m innocent. I never r*ped or s*xually assaulted Jane Doe 1. I never knew this woman, and the fact is she doesn’t know me. This is about money.”

The explicit case went on after Jane Doe 1 blamed the Shakespeare in Love producer for several assaults that changed her life. “His selfish, disgusting actions have greatly impacted my life…There is no prison sentence long enough to undo the damage.” the victim stated. Therefore, the riveting case handled by Judge Lisa Lench sentenced Weinstein to three consecutive sentences that totaled 16 years of imprisonment for forcible oral copulation, s*xual penetration by a foreign object, and r*pe.

Being one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein was charged with allegations of r*pe and s*xual misconduct. Dating back to the 1970s, Weinstein was accused of using his position and power over vulnerable victims. 

Harvey Weinstein’s trial against his victims dates back to the 2013 Los Angeles Italia Film Festival, where he allegedly forced himself on an actress and model referred to as Jane Doe 1. Further, Weinstein faced 11 charges in his Los Angeles trials against Jane Doe 1 along with four other anonymous women referred to as Jane Doe 2,3,4, and 5. Jane Doe 4 later identified herself as Jennifer Siebel Newsom, while testifying against Weinstein for her 2005 assault.

The long-time film producer was accused of battery and several misconduct charges after the #MeToo movement came to the limelight. More than 100 women in total testified against Harvey Weinstein exposing his harassing behavior. Victims claimed that the ex-producer allegedly promised career enhancement and opportunities in return for s*xual favor. Despite apologizing, denying all speculations, and failing to identify his victims, Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment consecutive to his previous 23 years prison sentence.
