Jacob Elordi has been steadily gaining more and more recognition in Hollywood with each new project. Soon after his first experience of being on a Hollywood set came when he played an extra in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies, he got his first acting role in the Australian film Swinging Safari, which was released in 2018.

That same year, Jacob Elordi played the role of Noah Flynn for the first time in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth trilogy. Another role that helped him gain prominence was as Nate Jacobs in the critically acclaimed series Euphoria, which aired for the first time in 2019. Recently, he played the role of the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley in the biopic Priscilla, and his co-star Cailee Spaeny has nothing but praises for him.

Priscilla, largely based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, is a biopic written, directed, and produced by Sofia Coppola. Priscilla Presley herself served as the executive producer of the movie. The movie follows Presley’s life and her romantic relationship with the Love Me Tender star Elvis Presley.

Cailee Spaeny played the titular role in the movie while Jacob Elordi portrayed Elvis Presley. During an interview with Gold Derby, Spaeny revealed what it was like working with Elordi, saying:

“And it was important for us to have a rapport before we started filming. Sometimes it’s fine to meet on day one and roll right into a scene, but for this one I think we had to have some level of trust beforehand. We met up, did some fun activities and got to know each other…Jacob was just an actor who I felt like I could always lean on. He was always going to bring an idea to the table. He’s the real deal.”

Portraying a living person in a biopic was obviously very intimidating for Cailee Spaeny despite the meetings she had had with Priscilla Presley. So, having built a bond with Elordi before they officially began playing their respective roles in the movie made things a little easier for her. She also said that she is excited to see Elordi in his upcoming projects.

Sofia Coppola, legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola’s youngest child, has won numerous accolades throughout her career. Working with her would be an achievement for any rising or established actor. Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny have fortunately managed to achieve this early in their career.

During an interview with Collider in which the interviewer’s cat decided to make a guest appearance, Jacob Elordi revealed his reaction when he found out that he had gotten the role, saying:

“I mean, I think it was fear immediately for me. I think I’ve been saying I wanted to work with a filmmaker like Sofia my whole life, and then she was like, “Okay, let’s do it,” and then I was like, “Oh no. No, not actually,” you know?”

Elordi’s reaction was understandable given how big of a deal it is to appear in a Sofia Coppola movie, not to mention that he had secured the role of the music legend Elvis Presley.
