Riley Keough “Was Hoping” $35M Lisa Marie Presley Trust Fund Lawsuit Against Grandma Priscilla Ends Soon for the Sake of Her Own Daughter
Following Lisa Marie Presley’s death in January 2023, her family was quick to get involved in a lawsuit over inheritance, after mourning her demise. The late singer’s daughter Riley Keough became the trust controller of Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion and was given 15% ownership of the singer’s estate. This led Priscilla Presley to challenge her inheritance with a lawsuit and drag the reputed family into a headline-making drama.
However, on a recent note, Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley finally reached a settlement in court over Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. Happy to end the legal drama, Keough is willing to move on from the case and focus on her daughter. Sources claimed the 33-year-old is also willing to recover the estranged relationship with her grandmother.
Riley Keough Wants To Move On From The Lawsuit
Engaging in a dispute centered around the 2016 amendment in Lisa Marie Presley’s living trust, a few weeks after the singer’s death, Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley became worst of enemies. Challenging the validity and authenticity of the amendment, the singer’s mother Priscilla Presley launched a lawsuit against her granddaughter Riley Keough.
According to the document, Lisa Marie Presley‘s mother and former business manager Barry Siegel were reportedly kicked out, to name Keough and her deceased brother, Benjamin, as co-trustees. However, Priscilla Presley repeatedly challenged the document, stating, “Lisa Marie’s signature appears inconsistent with her usual and customary signature.”
Fighting for months over the amendment and making appearances in court, Keough and Presley eventually settled the case on Tuesday. Relieved to end the drama, Keough is finally looking forward to leading a normal and stress-free life with her family. “Riley is relieved to have settled the dispute over her mom’s estate. She doesn’t want any drama with her grandmother,” sources shared with People magazine.
Riley Keough Wants To Focus On Her Family
Photographed in Vancouver, picking up coffee on Wednesday, Riley Keough seemed happy and fresh after the legal settlement with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley. Having mixed feelings about the legal embattlement against her grandmother, Keough avoided discussing anything related to the lawsuit with the public.
Hoping for months to end the settlement with her grandmother, Keough had been desperately wishing to move on. “She was hoping they could reach a settlement quickly” sources close to the 33-year-old stated. Grieving her mother’s death, the Daisy Jones & The Six star had been trying to focus on her daughter and her family. “Riley is still grieving her mom” insiders shared exclusively with the People magazine.
Coming to a common ground and settling the case over property distribution, Riley Keough wants no further drama with her family members. Losing her mother out of the blue, made her even more cautious about her surviving family. Thus, sources revealed, “It’s been very tough for her. She wants to focus on making memories with her own daughter now. This is her priority”.
Hopeful about fixing the estranged relationship with her grandmother, Riley Keough is currently focused on her daughter and husband Ben Smith-Petersen.
