Following Lisa Marie Presley’s death earlier this year, Riley Keough celebrates her first Mother’s Day without her mom. Expressing her grief over her mother’s sudden death and recalling the good moments, the Daisy Jones and the Six star, honored her late mother via Instagram post.

Sharing a throwback image of her parents, Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough, holding baby Riley Keough, the actress paid tribute to her “loving mama” on the 14th of May. Following Presley’s sudden death, the family came together for the memorial service, although Keough’s relationship with her grandmother suffered a setback upon property ownership.

Riley Keough’s First Mother’s Day Without Lisa Marie Presley

Riley Keough, the oldest living daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough, suffered emotionally after the sudden death of her mother at 54 on 12th January 2023, of cardiac arrest. Failing to fathom her trauma and grief, Keough didn’t attend her mother’s memorial service on January 22nd at Elvis’ Graceland estate. However, her husband read her eulogy during the service, paying tribute to her late mother.

It’s been four months, since Lisa Marie Presley’s death. However, the family is still grieving her absence. Riley Keough still seems to be suffering from the massive absence of her mother. Celebrating Mother’s Day for the first time with her mother, Keough went through an emotional journey and thus shared a loving post via Instagram remembering her mother.

After Presley’s death, 33-year-old Riley Keough was named the trust controller of Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion and was given 15% ownership of the singer’s estate. The distribution infuriated her grandmother, as she found it completely biased and unfair, which initiated a family drama right after the memorial service. However, amid the ongoing feud with her grandmother Priscilla Presley, Keough didn’t forget to honor her late mother on Mother’s Day.

Riley Keough’s Tribute To Her Late Mother

Previously expressing her sorrow over Lisa Marie Presley‘s death, Riley Keough handed her husband Ben Smith-Petersen, her eulogy letter which he read during the memorial service. Mourning her mother’s death, mostly in private, the 33-year-old announced the birth of her daughter with her husband Petersen, during Presley’s memorial. “I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters,” Keough wrote in the eulogy read by her husband.

Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity.” she wrote further in the eulogy statement. Expressing her emotions through letters, Riley Keough yet again shared a post recalling her mother during this year’s Mother’s Day. Sharing a throwback image via Instagram, the actress paid tribute to her late mother.

Sharing a photo of Lisa Marie Presley and her father, Danny Keough cradling her as an infant, Riley Keough wrote a short but emotional caption. Recalling the good memories with her mother, Keough wrote, “Lucky to have had the best and most deeply loving mama I could have asked for”. However, since the tragedy, the Presley-Keough family affairs have been quite tense. It was reported, Priscilla Presley even challenged the validity of the amendment that ousted her as a trustee and gave 15% ownership to Riley Keough.
