Rocky Star Dolph Lundgren Marries 38 Years Younger Personal Trainer Emma Krokdal After Scary Battle With Cancer
Drago, widely recognized as the third-best boxer in the Rocky series, cemented himself on the wrong side of Rocky fans with his exploits.
The character first featured in Rocky IV and quickly made a reputation for his rigid personality and even harder punches – which eventually led to the death of Apollo Creed during an exhibition match. The fact the Russian fighter didn’t speak much – letting his wife Ludmilla Vobet do the most of the talking – and exploited the friendly situation of his bout to catch Apollo off guard, made him a very unlikeable character.
The perception of Drago also influences how some fans view Dolph Lundgren in real life – a stiff individual. But it turns out, the actor is a charmer off the screen.
Rocky’s Dolph Lundgren Ties the Knot With His Personal Trainer
The days of knocking down Apollo and giving Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) a run for his money are long gone, but apparently, Dolph Lundgren is still involved in Martial Arts training.
At 65, despite all the training, he’s unlikely to get a show-down with Rocky in another movie (although with Stallone, age is just a number and nothing can’t be ruled out). But still, being involved in the sport has helped Lundgren find his wife, who is 38 years younger than him.
Emma Krokdal, 27, is Lundgren’s personal trainer and has also been pictured with The Expendables star on several red carpet events. The pair tied the knot in Greece on July 13, confirming the celebrations with a joint statement: “We chose to celebrate our love by getting married at our villa in Mykonos with family and a few close friends.”
Despite the age difference, the marriage isn’t a surprise as the couple have been together for several years. Lundgren, who proposed to Krokdal in June 2020, recently talked about how mature his Norwegian partner is, having gone through a lot of things in her life, including a difficult divorce at an early age.
Rocky’s Drago Dolph Lundgren Knocked Down Cancer
In 2015, the Swede was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which was initially dealt with by the removal of the tumor. But in 2020, the cancer returned in a much more vicious form and doctors told the actor he had two or three years left to live.
Drago was knocked down by Rocky, but Lundgren wasn’t prepared to lose his battle with Cancer, eventually coming out on the top. The worst is now behind the 65-year-old.
Lundgren recently admitted he has found a new appreciation for life and also credited his wife for proving to be an excellent support, akin to Head Cornerman outside the boxing ring.
