Ryan Gosling is Putting the Producers Hat Back On in a New Zombie Comedy Film as Acting Career Takes a Hit After The Fall Guy’s Failure
Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling might have had a rough patch with the recent release of The Fall Guy, starring Emily Blunt. Even though the film hasn’t done as well as his other recent films, that’s not stopping him.
The actor is ready to try something new, which is why he has teamed up with Amazon MGM Studios for a new zombie comedy movie titled I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale. This could be a big change for Gosling’s career, as it will give him a chance to showcase his comedic timing and production chops.
Ryan Gosling is Set to Produce a New Zombie Comedy
When you think of a Zombie movie, you usually expect chaos with flesh-eating creatures. But I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale is totally different. It takes a funny look at what happens after the apocalypse. Instead of scary monsters, this movie shows us the not-so-easy lives of reformed zombies trying to fit back in with regular people in a weird, new world.
This intriguing concept, is being written by two brothers, Adam and Daniel Cooper, who are just starting out in Hollywood. The Cooper Twins have made lots of short films and are famous in Hollywood for directing and editing trailers for big movie studios. Their work has earned them Clios and Golden Trailer Awards.
Things are still very much in the early stages for I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale. The Cooper Twins are yet to pen a script based on their own short story. While Ryan Gosling is producing the movie, he is currently not attached to star in it. There also isn’t a director attached to the project yet. This has some people wondering if Gosling might eventually direct the film himself.
Ryan Gosling’s Box Office Woes Might Ignite Interest in Directing
Ryan Gosling just finished filming his role as Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie, but he isn’t taking a break! Next up for the 43-year-old is the lead role in the sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
The Canadian actor is a producer on the project, along with Jessie Henderson, his partner at General Admission, the production banner they launched in March of this year. This film is based on a popular book by Andy Weir, the same author who wrote The Martian. While there’s no official word yet on when Project Hail Mary will hit theaters, filming is expected to start soon.
Gosling’s recent movies, like The Fall Guy and Blade Runner 2049, haven’t done as well as some hoped at the box office. So maybe, this could be making him think about other film industry jobs beyond acting. Working behind the scenes on Project Hail Mary could give him experience that would be helpful if he ever wanted to direct a movie, like I Used to Eat Brains. This could be a sign that Gosling might even direct movies in the future!
