Despite getting his big break on The Mickey Mouse Club, Gosling said he lived in a run-down mobile home at the time. He resided in a trailer park in Florida with his mother, while working as a Disney Channel actor.

Ryan Gosling revealed the mobile home he grew up in had a dangerous gas leak. This resulted in constant “propane inhalation” that left young Gosling perpetually exhausted.

“I lived in a trailer park in CMI, Florida, in a mobile home with a gas leak, and I was tired all the time because of the propane inhalation,” he shared.

Living in a hazardous environment took a physical toll on Gosling, sapping his energy. But he pushed through the fatigue to help provide for his single mother.

While his living situation was far from ideal, Gosling said acting allowed him to contribute financially at a young age.

Gosling has since become an A-lister with acclaimed films like Drive, La La Land, and The Notebook under his belt. But he hasn’t forgotten those humble, trying origins.

Gosling’s experience shows that adversity doesn’t preclude achievement. Though faced with a challenging living situation, he found a way to thrive through sheer determination. His tough upbringing fuels his dedication to this day.
