Ryan Seacrest Returns to ‘Live’ After Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Take Over Didn’t Impress Fans With Constant PDA and Gross Jokes
Just after a month following his departure, Ryan Seacrest is back! The ex-host will be joining the current hosts, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos to promote the season finale of the American Idol. Although not a permanent return, fans of the show speculate Seacrest had to return this soon just to save the show from sinking.
Since his departure, the ratings of the show has slowly declined, with many citing the real-life couple as the reason for the disaster. The former host had been a part of the show for 6 years and decided to move on in search of bigger and better things. People loved the energy Ripa and Seacrest brought to the show every morning, which, sadly, hasn’t been the case with the new hosts.
Reviews after the first week were particularly disappointing. But now that the former Live! host is back again, people speculate, the ratings of the show will be restored to its former glory.
Ryan Seacrest is back on Live!
Well, not technically. Ryan Seacrest is set to make a guest appearance on the show he just departed from the previous month to promote American Idol. This marks his first official return to the show since April after Mark Consuelos took over the show as co-host with Kelly Ripa. Now he is back as promised, but a bit earlier than the people actually expected. People believe that the “brutal” reviews the show encountered right after his absence, was the cause of his early comeback.
During his last episode on the 14th of April, the star promised his audience, “This isn’t the end, I’m going to be back,”
And he did not break his promise. The host ran back to the show as soon as he got the chance to do so. He said,
“This place is remarkable. I’m going to miss coming into this studio to see the people who have worked here for so long. It is about the people here; it’s a family at Live and they adopted me for a little while and I’m grateful for that. … So I’ll definitely be visiting from time to time.”
To which his co-host Kelly Ripa said,
“He’s forever adopted,—He’s forever a New Yorker and forever a Live co-host, whether he likes it or not.”
The duo, Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who is often known for sharing intimate details of their lives, were speculated to be the same when they came together to host the morning talk show. That, in turn, received some damaging reviews.

Live! reviews after Ryan Seacrest’s exit
Although the show received some harsh reviews following the departure of its former host Ryan Seacrest, it pulled itself up and witness one of the best weeks it has ever witnessed. One fan shared,
“Kelly And Mark show is just dumb! This morning they were talking about how Mark snores at night! Had to instantly change the channel at my job”
While another said,
“I don’t see this show lasting… I’m not interested in watching a spinoff of NY Housewives”
Once the show acknowledged its mistakes, it made a few modifications that had a positive outcome. Contrary to popular belief, the show is now going particularly well. After the talk show had a tumultuous first week, it garnered roaring success for the week of April 24, when it earned an average of 2.3M viewers per episode and a 1.6 Household rating, as reported by Nielsen, and made it to no. 1. This is the first time the show has seen such remarkable growth since May of 2020.
