Actress Sasha Calle earned popularity soon after debuting as the second leading Kryptonian hero after Henry Cavill’s Superman. She starred as Supergirl in Ezra Miller’s The Flash which came out last year.

During the marketing campaign for The Flash, Sasha Calle played a significant role as enthusiasts were highly anticipating witnessing Kara Zor-El in a live-action project. As expected, Calle’s role turned out to be exciting and fans took no time to praise the actress for doing justice with their Supergirl. However, according to reports, there has been no confirmation that Sasha Calle is reprising her role in Gunn’s DC Universe.

But Calle got the incredible chance to portray Kara Zor-El for the first time in a live-action movie.

However, in The Flash, fans had to witness the end of Supergirl at the hands of Michael Shannon’s General Zod. There were numerous rumors about Calle reprising her role including the actress’ desire to explore Kara Zor-El further, but no official confirmation has emerged concerning Sasha Calle’s portrayal in the DC Universe.

Now that Sasha Calle exited from the role of Supergirl, she’s set for her upcoming film titled In The Summers. The film comes from writer-director Alessandra Lacorazza and features the Latina sisters Violeta played by Lio Mehiel, and Eva portrayed by Sasha Calle. According to Deadline, Nando Vila, the Head of Exile Content Studio said:

“Alessandra is a visionary filmmaker and her script for In The Summers profoundly spoke to our mission at Exile to create content that uplifts Latin voices and tells rich, diverse stories.”

In The Summers will also include young Violeta and Eva played by different artists. It will revolve around the lives of the sisters who meet their beloved father every summer. However, beneath the fun and excitement of celebrating summer, their father Vicente (played by Residente) is struggling with addiction. The plot details have been kept under wraps but considering the words of Vila In The Summers seems to be a distinct project.

Another project that Sasha Calle has secured after In The Summers is the American drama On Swift Horses. Not much has been revealed about the project including when the film will come out, but what we’re sure of is about the talented cast of this film. With Calle playing the role of Sandra, rising star Jacob Elordi will portray Julius, Diego Canva as Henry, and other notable stars.

This upcoming drama film is an adaptation of a novel by Shannon Pufahl of the same name. Daniel Minahan will serve as the director of On Swift Horses, while Bryce Kass is working on the script. The film will revolve around Daisy Edgar’s Muriel trapped inside a dangerous love triangle. Elordi’s film will see the actors involved in gambling and finding love for Casinos.

In The Summers will come out this year.
