New set photos from the filming of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again have offered fans their first glimpse of the MCU’s White Tiger. The photos, shared on social media by user @porgonomics, were taken in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City, where production is underway for the new Daredevil series set to premiere on Disney+ in early 2025. They show an actor in a full White Tiger costume, marking the character’s debut appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who is the MCU’s White Tiger?

While several characters have donned the White Tiger mantle in Marvel Comics, insider @MyTimeToShineHello claims the White Tiger in Daredevil: Born Again will specifically be Hector Ayala.

This makes sense given the costume seen in the photos, which resembles Ayala’s armored White Tiger suit from the comics. Hector Ayala was the original White Tiger introduced in the comics. His inclusion aligns with rumors from late 2022 that reported the White Tiger would appear in the new Daredevil series.

According to The Direct, many speculated the show’s White Tiger could be one of the female successors to the mantle like Angela Del Toro or Ava Ayala. But these new photos confirm Hector Ayala’s debut, while not necessarily ruling out appearances from other White Tigers down the line.

Along with the debut of White Tiger, Marvel fans are eager to see which other street-level superheroes will join Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the new series. Cox’s brief appearance in Echo earlier this year is what appetites more of the Man Without Fear.

Marvel producer Brad Winderbaum teased that Daredevil: Born Again will focus on gritty, grounded New York City stories as the show expands the MCU’s street-level roster.

With Wilson Fisk returning as Kingpin, speculation is swirling that a clash with Spider-Man could be on the horizon. Vincent D’Onofrio recently told ComicBook.com he’d welcome the chance for Kingpin to “kick Spider-Man’s a**” in a future MCU project.

While specific details remain scarce, the set photos have excited fans by confirming Daredevil is assembling an ensemble of street-level heroes and villains.

Daredevil: Born Again has seen some turbulence during development, with the original writers being replaced and delays pushing the release to 2025. But Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios seem intent on doing the series justice.

For Charlie Cox, the chance to suit up again as Daredevil is a dream come true after the Netflix show’s cancellation. The actor is thrilled to explore more of Daredevil and his journey in the MCU.

And with 18 episodes planned, Born Again will be the longest Marvel Studios series yet on Disney+. This gives showrunners ample time to dive deep into Daredevil’s world and build connections across the wider MCU.
