Shakira Was Fined For $440 For Breaking Rule Before She Started Dating Barcelona’s Veteran Gerard Pique
Shakira has many beautiful memories associated with Barcelona, as she lived there throughout the majority of the recent years, but also many bitter ones that she really does not want to get into anymore. And this traffic breach was most defiantly among the latter ones. The singer extraordinaire, Shakira was caught breaching traffic laws while shooting for a music video called Loca. Apparently, the celebrity did not take any permission from the local authorities before shooting her video.
This incident took place before she met her long-time boyfriend, Gerard Pique. Most recently she accused him and his mother of trapping her in tax fraud, after their separation. Therefore, although she has now left Barcelona for good, the memories still haunt her.
Shakira violated many traffic laws while shooting her music video
Shakira‘s music video for her song Loca created quite a stir when it showed the Colombian singer dancing on the streets of Barcelona, Spain, riding a motorcycle and causing chaos in the city’s traffic. Turns out everything shown in the video wasn’t warranted, the singer did not take any permission from the City Council. Besides that, the video was widely criticized for showing reckless behavior and for promoting dangerous stunts on public roads.
Although she issued a public statement stating her side of the story and apologizing, she had to pay dearly. She also claimed that the scenes were spontaneous, and not pre-planned and thus were not taken permission for, her actions were not deliberate.
However, her apology did not save her from legal action. The municipal police of Barcelona filed a complaint against the singer which led her to pay for her recklessness. She was fined $440 while the director, Jaume De Laiguana was fined $1861 as charges for filming without the required permits. The controversy surrounding the song further boosted its hype and thus became a hit in numerous countries, including Spain, Mexico, Italy, and many more.
Shakira starts a new chapter of her life in Miami
Shakira is ready to leave everything behind and start a new life in Miami with her kids. After the highly publicized and messy breakup with her boyfriend, she now wants to live life in peace and focus on her career as well as her children. She is one of the most successful singers in the world, therefore, her move to Miami will also prove beneficial for her career, providing a wider range of audience, she also can venture into a newer demographic. Shakira also released a statement regarding her move. She said,
“I established myself in Barcelona to give my kids stability, the same one we are now looking for in another corner of the world alongside my family, friends and the sea,—Today we start a new chapter in search of their happiness.”
All in all, it was a win-win situation for all. She also expressed her gratitude toward the Spanish fans who made her the icon she is today. The singer pledged to continue inspiring the lives of the millions that follow her and promise to never let them down, as she enters a new chapter in her life.
