The first official trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was released recently, giving fans a glimpse at Jennifer Walters. On top of introducing the MCU’s Jennifer Walters and her relationship with her brother Bruce Banner, reprised by Mark Ruffalo, the footage also saw the return of Emil Blonsky, who was previously seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Marvel Fans Have Already Criticised She-Hulk

However, fans have already started to criticize the show for its apparent quality of VFX, particularly when She-Hulk is on the screen. Currently, it’s unknown whether the video used in the teaser is the final cut of the series or if the show is still unfinished. Neither Marvel Studios nor Disney has issued an official response to these complaints.

However, VFX artist Sean Ruecroft, who has worked on many MCU projects, commented on the original design for She-Hulk. “I was at a company that did VFX for this. Apparently, she was bigger early on, but the notes kept saying to ‘make her smaller’… We always roll our eyes (like we did on Sonic) but at the end of the day artists gotta follow orders.”

Will The CGI Quality Get Better?

For now, details around the plot of the series remain quite scarce. Actor Tim Roth, who reprises Blonsky, previously teased fans with Tatiana Maslany’s performance as the titular character. “She’s amazing… It’s actually jaw-dropping… Her ability to absorb and then perform was quite remarkable. And she’s funny. One of the signs of a good actor is their comedic touch. And she has it in spades.”

Disney+ dropped a version of the trailer in a much higher resolution, offering a bit better CGI, in terms of quality. The visible improvements are reportedly facial features, improved skin textures which also include pores and upgraded lighting effects like clearer reflections in She-Hulk’s eyes.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will hit Disney+ on Aug. 17.
