Back in January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step down from their roles in the Royal Family. They decided to step back as ‘senior members’ of the Royal family. In a recent interview with Good Morning America, the Duke of Sussex revealed Queen Elizabeth’s feelings on the matter. The host Michael Strahan asked the Duke of Sussex if the queen was ever upset at him for leaving the family.
Strahan asked, “Did she ever express that she was upset at you?“. Prince Harry initially didn’t get the question and asked “For what?“. Then Strahan clarified his point about the Duke of Sussex stepping back from his responsibilities. Prince Harry almost instantly answered that she was not upset with him about leaving the family. He said, “My grandmother and I had a very good relationship. It was never a surprise to anybody, least of all her. She knew what was going on, she knew how hard it was.” He further added, “I think she was sad that it had got to that point.”

Referring to this proposal, Michael Strahan told the Duke of Sussex that it wouldn’t have worked. He said, “There are going to be people saying, ‘Why aren’t they either be in or get out?’ “. Prince Harry said, “I can’t ever get out.” He further explained that he is very thankful for the life he has lived so far but, “there’s no version of me ever being able to get out of this,” he added.
