The pair announced their marriage on social media with little to no media publicity and little to no advance notice. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez wed in Las Vegas with a bare-bones ceremony. Although rumors claim the celebrity merely wanted to “get married,” they did so. Fans are divided in their opinions of the stars’ choices.

According to a reliable Hollywood source, “Ben did tell Jen about the wedding, but I’m told that it was only Friday at the earliest. It was very, very minimally planned in advance and was largely spur of the moment. Violet stayed home because she’s extremely loyal to her mom,”
The Hollywood source also clarified why the singer/actress acted in such a rush. “[Lopez] has been ready to get married since the night that Ben proposed. She wanted to lock this down and remove any chance for cold feet ASAP!”
The 52-year-old singer and actress wrote this after posing for pictures in a pink Cadillac: “Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at twelve-thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things — and worth waiting for.” She signed off as Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
The children were just as shocked as the rest of us
According to Page Six, the couple celebrated with pizza and Diet Coke as they flew back to LA in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
And while J. Lo claimed on her OnTheJLo newsletter on Sunday that their children attended the shocking wedding at a drive-through chapel, Page Six has learned that only Jennifer Lopez’s daughter Emme, 14, and Ben Affleck’s Sera, 13, were present.
They are each parent of five children. Max is the twin brother of Emme, and Ben Affleck also has two children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Sam, 10, and Violet, 16.
