Lizzo is an American singer and rapper who rose to fame with her third studio album Cuz I Love You (2019), peaking inside the top five of the US Billboard. She has been in the news in recent weeks after she was forced to remove an ableist slur from her song Grrrls. Now, she is again making headlines after the comedian Aries Spears made fun of her for her body. He came under fire for ridiculing her for being overweight.

Aries Spear compared Lizzo to Sh*t Emoji

While on the Art of Dialogue podcast, Aries Spears ridiculed the Juice singer and her fans for boasting the body positivity thing out of proportion. Spears said, “She’s got a very pretty face, but she keeps showing her body off.” The comedian further added that he knows that he is not the fittest person in the world.  But, he firmly believes if a person is funny and confident, they are already attractive.

The comedian further continued, “A woman that’s built like a plate of mashed potatoes is in trouble,” while displaying double standards. He said that the women’s hypocrisy and contradiction makes him sick while referring to Lizzo’s fans.

The Truth Hurts singer’s fans came forward to defend her

The fans of the pop star were quick to take it to Twitter and attack the comedian for his hateful comments. One user said that while the singer is full of energy and performing all around the world, this man is “dealing with labored breathing just sitting and hating.” on her body. Another user said that no one should comment about another person’s body no matter who they are. People were quick to attack the comedian himself for his ‘bold‘ attacks.
