The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle who was once known as Briefcase No 24 for the NBC show Deal or No Deal, in the latest episode of her podcast series Archetypes, revealed she felt objectified in the show. She shared that the objectification onstage was one of the reasons why she ended up “quitting the show.”

She further revealed, “I didn’t like feeling forced to be all looks and little substance, and that’s how it felt for me at the time being reduced to this specific archetype: the word ‘bimbo.’”

She felt grateful for the money but resented that the girls working there had to prepare themselves in a certain way for the show.

However, she received criticism from the fans for her comments about the models. Not just the fans, her former co-star Lisa Gleave also shared her thoughts for the former actress.

Australian-American model, Lisa Gleave who was once known as Briefcase No 3 shared that the atmosphere in the NBC game show was fun.

The model shared in Daily Mail that she felt “blessed and lucky to have been on it.”  She also shared how the show served as a great career move for her, “For me, it was a joy and a great career move. Most of the girls would say that.”

Going against the words of the Duchess of Sussex, she claimed, “I never looked at it as a show that objectified women. The cast and crew treated us very well.”

“It was a professional set. For many of us, it was a stepping stone in our careers and we went on to greater things,” she added.

She directly slammed the Suits alum by stating,

“If Meghan didn’t want to feel objectified and had bad feelings about her role then she could have chosen not to do the audition and not to do all the shows that she did. And that would have given another girl a chance, someone who would have jumped at the role.”

Adding that no one treated the “smart and intelligent women” as “bimbos“, she added that the show gave them a push in their careers.

She also claimed that the Duchess of Sussex was a “struggling actress and I think if it wasn’t for Deal Or No Deal she probably wouldn’t be where she is now.”

According to the TV personality, the former actress neither would have met the British royal member, Prince Harry nor would she be cast in Suits if she was not a part of the show.
