Aubrey Plaza is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After appearing in the X-Men universe series Legion, The White Lotus star continues her professional high point and is set to return to the superhero genre with the Disney+ show Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The actress, during an interview, spoke about her excitement to join the MCU and praised her upcoming show. Plaza said,
“Coven of Chaos was so fun. I wanted very much to work with Kathryn Hahn, I think she’s so great. And without saying anything really, I had a blast.”
She went on to talk about her character and called the show the most elevated Marvel material. She said.
“I loved my character in that as well, and I think it’s the most elevated Marvel material that’s out there. So, it was cool to jump into that world with those people specifically.”
The Parks and Recreation star’s comments created a buzz among fans. MCU, over the years, has hyped its content but has failed to provide what the audience wants. The franchise has produced many disappointing movies like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Thor: Love and Thunder. Aubrey Plaza’s Marvel shows Legion also failed to capture the audience. Agatha: Coven of Chaos, a WandaVision spinoff, will delve deeply into the life of Kathryn Hahn’s witch character Agatha Harkness. There is no official release date for the MCU show, however, given that it was initially planned to premiere this year, the series will likely launch towards the start of 2024.
