She also got a taste of sweet life by marrying Sam Asghari this year however that didn’t last very long as her ex-husband Kevin Federline created troubles for the singer. Britney Spears Released New Song ‘Hold Me Closer’ With Elton John
The 40-year-old pop star is back after six years giving her fans a new song with Elton John titled, Hold Me Closer, a spin on Elton’s 1971 classic Tiny Dancer and is ‘excited’ about her comeback as she believes it could get her back on the track. Though she won’t be performing the new song at the upcoming 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, even though fans were looking forward to her performance.
An insider told Hollywood Life, “The rumor that Britney would be performing likely started when MTV called the label to get clearance to play the song, but Britney is not performing the song in any way, shape, or form,” adding, “No video, no virtual, no live, nothing.”
Elton John has also shared his opinion on working with the singer in this song. Stating to Guardian, he shared, “She truly is an icon, one of the all-time great pop stars and she sounds amazing on this record. I love her dearly and am delighted with what we’ve created together.”

After dealing with long personal dramas, the insider shared that Britney Spears‘ needed it as she recently dealt with the harsh criticisms from her ex-husband Kevin Federline who stated that her sons, Sean and Jayden, have decided not to meet her. The insider shared, “This song is exactly what Britney needed right now. After just going through all of that drama with Kevin, she really needed a confidence booster, and this is it.”
This song is a new opportunity for the singer to regain her confidence, with the source adding, “If this song is a success, which so many believe it will be, she will be ready to record again on her own and with other artists.” The fact that her new song is creating a buzz among her fans is a huge sign for the pop star to resume her career.
