Taraji P. Henson Talks About Filming S*x Scenes With Robert Downey Jr.’s Co-star

Robert Downey Jr.’s co-star Terrence Howard Collaborated with the Academy Award-winning actor Taraji P. Henson for Empire. Fans not only loved the Emmy-nominated series but also loved the onscreen chemistry of the pair. According to Taraji P. Henson, it really becomes a bit weird for great friends to shoot intimate scenes. During an interview with the media outlet E-News, the Hidden Figures actor spoke about a trick that doesn’t allow her Empire co-star to get aroused while filming the s*x scenes. She said-

“He’s like one of my coolest male friends in life. [So] he hates that. Because you have to keep them, the boys, you have to keep them professional. They can’t help if they get aroused. Every time we laid there, he kept talking to his male member, ‘Don’t do that! No, don’t! Taraji’s gonna punch me!’ So then I said, ‘You know, I will sock you in the throat.'”

She further mentioned-

“He goes, ‘OK, I’m gonna have to keep my pants on.’ And I said, ‘OK, do what you need to do…Let me help you.’ Every time he would get on top of me, I would be [in a little girl’s voice], ‘Daddy, why are you on top of me? Where’s Mommy? Why is the door closed?’ He would be like, ‘Oh no!’ But it worked, I would be like, ‘Why are you touching me, Daddy?’ And he was like, ‘Aw, no, that is twisted.’ But guess what? We got through the scene real quick.”

Filming intimate scenes with friends leads to awkwardness. Similar is the case with the Empire co-stars, however, the Marvel actor dislikes filming intimate scenes with Taraji P. Henson.

Robert Downey Jr. On Working With Christopher Nolan In Oppenheimer

Robert Downey Jr. played the role of Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. He was critically acclaimed for the portrayal of the role and as the Marvel star had never done a character like this in his entire acting career. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor spoke about his character and working with one of the legendary directors of all time. He said-

“In doing a bunch of research on Strauss, I connected it to my own grandfather, who would have been a contemporary of his. Robert Elias, whom I never met, was in the U.S. Army, a self-made guy. There’s a cool simile between something he was involved in and how Strauss probably felt about Oppenheimer. This grandfather helped do the glass for the Chrysler Building, and the Chrysler and the Empire State were vying to be the biggest. So I was thinking, how can I make Strauss’s competitiveness with Oppenheimer personal?”

While drawing the similarities between Lewis Strauss’s character’s dedication towards his work and himself, the Avengers star mentioned-

“‘Look at that building over there that’s no better than mine getting all the shine!’ I don’t think there’s another human being alive that can’t admit to having fallen into the vagaries of comparison. I also relate to, for reasons in a part of my life that I don’t discuss with the press — the recovery stuff — the amount of service that was involved in Strauss’s life and the dedication to an ideal.

According to Robert Downey Jr., Christopher Nolan’s spectacular work needs no description in the world of entertainment as the Academy Award-nominated director has already carved his name on the list of greatest filmmakers of all time.

Oppenheimer is currently running in theatres across the world
