‘She’s Such A Queen’: Dua Lipa Apologizes To Fans After Freak Fireworks During Concert, Gets Applauded For Continuing Her Performance To Avoid Panic
Following a frightening event at a recent concert, Dua Lipa is speaking out. The 26-year-old singer stopped in Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday to perform as part of her Future Nostalgia Tour, and the crowd was startled when pyrotechnics were let off within the enclosed space. English singer and songwriter, Dua Lipa, can sing in the mezzo-soprano range, and her distinctive disco-pop style has become well-known.
Dua Lipa’s concert started to pop off
Dua Lipa, the singer rumored to play Zatanna, had to face real danger before any confirmations could be made for her superheroine role. Just as the famous singer was ending the concert with an unexpected bang, it became clear that the fireworks were not being handled by professionals. As the audience left the concert slightly ablaze, MLSE (Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment) stated “Last night, at the end of a concert event at Scotiabank Arena, unauthorized and illegal fireworks were set off on the arena floor by a member of the audience. As a result, three attendees received minor aid on-site and were able to go home without a need for further medical attention,”
The company continued its statement by thanking the proper authorities that acted on the incident instantaneously.
“As one of the premier venues in North America, creating a safe and secure venue for every attendee at Scotiabank Arena is MLSE’s top priority and we immediately began working in cooperation with Toronto Police Services to fully investigate this reckless and dangerous act. As always, we thank Toronto Police Services, the on-site medical team, employees, and concert attendees for their swift support in responding to this incident.“
Amongst the crowd, there were only three noticeable concertgoers that had minor injuries from the stunt. Due to this, ambulances were not necessary to be called in for more medic support.
“It was at the end, during her final song, and confetti was already out, so we thought it was part of the finale,” an attendee told PEOPLE. “No one was fazed by it other than the people in the pit, [but it was] hella scary.”

Dua Lipa responds to the unexpected fireworks
“Last night, unauthorized fireworks went off in the crowd during my set in Toronto. Creating a safe and inclusive space at my shows is always my first priority, and my team and I are just as shocked and confused by the events as you all are.“
The celebrity posted a story after the incident on her official Instagram page. The apology given was as sincere as one can get as she continues by updating her followers on what is happening to the culprits that should be facing the heat.
“There is an ongoing investigation into the events being conducted, and everyone involved is working hard to find out how this incident occurred,” she continued. “Bringing this show to life for my fans has been such an amazing experience, and I’m so deeply sorry for anyone who was scared, felt unsafe, or whose enjoyment of the show was affected in any way. All my love, Dua.“
Fans catch on fast to the fact that fireworks were never part of the show
It is worth noting that celebs that have had chaos in their concerts don’t seem to face the consequences for it. Fans of Dua Lipa were quick to catch on to the singer’s reaction to the fireworks towards the end of her show. She continued her song as it was just a few minutes away from ending the concert itself. Fans praise this decision as it was crucial to keep the audience away from panicking and creating more chaos within the concert.

At first I thought it was on purpose but then I noticed they were on the floor and people were getting hit with them. You can see she looks worried 🙁 pic.twitter.com/9oFjNViO1M

Stopping the show (which was literally seconds away from being done) would have caused people to panic and probably run which would have only added to the danger.

Of what I’m seeing, this was litterally a minute away from the ending. If she stopped, people would’ve panicked and more would be injured. She did what she had to do. By the time they realise what was happening, the show was over. On her part, there was nothing she could’ve done
