Amber Heard has been making headlines ever since the highly-publicized defamation lawsuit filed by Johnny Depp in the news. Even after performing the best role in the court for weeks, she was unable to win public favor due to the evidence that put her in a negative light. Eventually, the case closed with the latter winning the trial and the former getting infamous fame which continued to haunt the actress even now.
The trial took a toll on the 36-year-old actress’s career that eventually left her with no option that she had to leave the country. That’s what everyone would have thought until this new report shared the real reason that made her move to Spain.
Amber Heard Moves To Spain
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that the 36-year-old American actress was spotted on the island of Palma de Mallorca in Spain with her little baby, Oonagh Paige Heard.
As per the reports, Amber Heard used an alias name, Martha Jane Canary so that she could travel low-key without having to go through unnecessary difficulties(especially when she had been in major public attention ever since the defamation lawsuit started).
According to reports, she is living in a rural area by renting a multi-million-dollar mansion in Costitx, Majorca. The owner was claimed to be a local infamous politician, Maria Antonia Munar.
According to reports by locals, Heard is perceived to be “like anyone else, she buys fruit and vegetables, she speaks Spanish with a Mexican accent and she’s very polite. She always says good morning to us.”
From the reports, it looks like the Aquaman actress is living a low-key life without major media attention however does she wants to live her life that way? Well, she wants to reinvent herself!
She Wants To Start Fresh!
Heard is reportedly living in Spain with her one-year-old daughter and her apparent girlfriend, Bianca Butti. Having gone through weeks of highly publicized trial, she reportedly wants to start afresh and reinvent herself as an actor.
As per the reports, she has decided to stay in the European native as she “knows she’s toast in Hollywood since Johnny Depp’s got the most powerful players lining up to cast him and the majority of A-listers firmly on his side.”
The insider added,
“By moving somewhere like Spain, she hopes to reinvent herself, leave her money woes behind, and start fresh with her daughter. She can see herself living in Spain, where no one accuses her of being a conniving liar, but she won’t get away with trying to run from justice.”
Though this could be a new start for the actress, it is yet to be determined whether her stay in the European native is temporary or if she plans to relocate to the country.
A Brief Note on The Defamation Lawsuit!
The ex-couple, Johnny Depp and Heard, was involved in a defamation lawsuit with the latter ending up losing the trial. It all started when the 36-year-old actress wrote a 2018 op-ed piece in The Washington Post claiming herself to be a “public figure representing domestic abuse”.
Though she didn’t mention her ex-husband by his name, Depp suffered a lot due to that. He then filed a defamation case against her demanding damages of $50 million for ruining his reputation. The Aquaman actor countersued him for $100 million.
The court asked Heard to pay $10.35m as damages to her ex-husband while she was awarded $2m for her counter-claims. Though she was not happy with the verdict and asked the judge to toss the jury’s verdict as she claims that the verdict was not supported by evidence.
