When the movie finally materialized, actors from the Fox era were more than happy to reprise their roles and make a short appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Talking about how they convinced the actors to come on board, Levy told Variety,
With pretty much no exceptions, every surprise casting in this movie came down to Ryan or I reaching out to the actor before lawyers and before agents [were involved]. It literally was us asking and invariably people saying ‘yes.’
