Good news for Solo Leveling fans: it is finally getting its third season. D&C Media, the South Korean publisher that owns the entire Solo Leveling IP, confirmed the anime is in production (via D&C Media IR).
The “announcement” is actually coming from the company’s investor earnings materials, so there is no flashy trailer for a Crunchyroll announcement yet, but it’s the first time anyone with actual authority over the IP has put a number on when Season 3 lands. Let’s dive into everything we know.
When Is Solo Leveling Season 3 Coming Out?

As of now, there is no confirmed release date for Season 3; however, there is a release window that we can look forward to. In the FY 2024-2025 earnings report released by D&C Media, the anime’s timeline is listed as “Season 3 is confirmed for 2027–2028.” Season 2 of the anime wrapped up in March 2025, making it a two-to-three-year gap.
Considering this long wait, we can expect the animations to look even better than before. However, there is one thing that is worth mentioning here. The confirmation is coming from the readings of the report by D&C Media. Neither A-1 Pictures nor Crunchyroll has made an announcement. Which means we shouldn’t be expecting a trailer anytime soon.
Will a Movie Release Before Season 3?

This is where things get interesting. There’s a strong chance fans will get a movie before the actual season comes out. If it does happen, it won’t be the first time because before Season 2 aired in January 2025, A-1 Pictures released a compilation movie, Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, comprising Season 1 and some extra content from Season 2.
Given that history, it wouldn’t be surprising if the same thing happened before Season 3 as well. Considering the gap between Season 1, the compilation movie, and Season 2, we can expect an official announcement for the movie soon enough, if indeed the production studios choose to go down this route.
Which Arc Will Solo Leveling Season 3 Adapt?

Season 2 ended right around the start of the Recruitment Arc, after Jin-Woo successfully retook Jeju Island and began building his own guild. That leaves a few big story chunks up next.
Season 3 is going to start at the Ahjin Guild Arc, where Jin-Woo officially forms his guild and starts building out his team. After that, there is the Double Dungeon Arc, which is a big turning point in Sung Jinwoo’s life. We can argue that both these Solo Leveling arcs are way better than the Jeju Island Arc, which was considered magnificent by the anime-only fandom.
Moreover, those two arcs can easily be covered in a single season, given the pace at which the anime has been adapted thus far. In the original webtoon, the Ahjin Guild Arc runs from Chapters 111–122, while the Double Dungeon Arc spans nine chapters (Chapters 123–131).
The actual antagonists of the story, the origin of Sung Jinwoo’s powers, the introduction of monarchs other than Sung Jinwoo, along with many other exciting moments, could be available near the end of Season 3 if it decides to tease further amazing arcs. With this pace, we can expect 2-3 more seasons for this anime for the story to finish.
Where Will Solo Leveling Season 3 Be Released on Streaming?

Solo Leveling Season 3 will almost certainly stream exclusively on Crunchyroll, the same platform that carried Seasons 1 and 2 worldwide. Solo Leveling is one of the best anime that you can binge on Crunchyroll right now, becoming the platform’s most-streamed anime and picking up major wins at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, so there’s basically no reason to expect Season 3 to go anywhere else.
That said, Crunchyroll hasn’t officially locked in Season 3 for its platform yet; the confirmation regarding Season 3 so far has only come from D&C Media’s investors’ side.
