“Someone is extremely salty he didn’t get a sequel”: Fans Blast Will Smith’s $1.05B Movie Co-Star for Insulting The Little Mermaid
Criticism came pouring down on Aladdin star Mena Massoud who recently took a dig at Disney studio’s upcoming film The Little Mermaid. The actor made a comparison between the two movies and gave his opinion that the latter won’t be able to reach the billion mark. Many fans took were rubbed the wrong way by his tweet and soon Massoud was slammed by various Twitter users.
Some mentioned that they watched the 2019 Aladdin all because of Will Smith rather than Massoud and others also tweeted along the same line. Since then, the 31-year-old actor has deactivated his Twitter account.
Mena Massoud Slammed By Fans On Twitter For Dissing The Little Mermaid
Since the thriller dropped for the upcoming Disney studio film The Little Mermaid (TLM), fans have been filled with excitement and anticipation as the day of its release gets closer and closer. However, amid all this hype, one person did not seem to be as excited.
Disney Studio’s 2019 film Aladdin star Mena Massoud recently took to his Twitter account to convey his thoughts on the upcoming film.

By comparing Aladdin which crossed the billion mark, he shared,
“My guess is that TLM does not cross the billion mark but will undoubtedly get a sequel”
This seemingly rubbed fans the wrong way as soon after the actor was flooded with criticisms from fans. One tweeted

Fans were not happy with the unnecessary dig at The Little Mermaid. And as for Massoud, he activated his Twitter account following the backlash. And as for now, there is no information as to when he might get back on the platform.

A Brief Look at Disney’s Upcoming Live-Action The Little Mermaid
Ariel will be back once again on the big screen and as expected fans have been beyond excited about the upcoming film The Little Mermaid. The movie is set to release on the 26th of May this year.
And it will explore the story of a young mermaid Ariel and her adventures in the surface land where she will also find her love, Prince Eric. Apart from that the story also includes Ariel’s fight against the evil sea witch Ursula. It is directed by Rob Marshall and stars Halle Bailey as Ariel.
With the teaser of the movie, there has been a lot of discussion on changing Ariel’s race (now played by a POC or a person of color actor Bailey). However, it became clear that most do not care and are happy to have the character in a live-action form.
