“Sometimes you forget that we’re mortal”: John Wick Star Lance Reddick Was Heartbroken After Death of First Wife, Married Second Time Before Untimely Demise at 60
Actor Lance Reddick passed away at the age of 60 on Friday. The unfortunate news came just a few days before the premiere of John Wick 4, in which the actor played the role of Charon. The cause of his death is currently unknown, but he was found dead in his home in Studio City, California.
The actor has starred in several hits like White House Down, Angel Has Fallen, and The Wire. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and two kids. This was the actor’s second marriage as his first wife, Suzanne Yvonne Louis, died back in 2011 due to a heart attack. He once talked about the loss of his wife in an interview with Strombo.
Lance Reddick passed away at the age of 60
As per TMZ, actor Lance Reddick was found dead in his home in Studio City, California at the age of 60. The cause of death is yet to be revealed. The authorities have stated that it “appears to be natural.” His death comes right before the premiere of John Wick 4. The actor reprised his role as Charon in the fourth installment of the John Wick series. Apart from this, he is well known for appearing in the HBO show The Wire for five seasons.

The actor was married to Stephanie Reddick
Lance Reddick was married to Stephanie Reddick for more than a decade. The two got married in 2011, nearly a decade after their first meeting in 1999. His wife once talked about their wedding day priorities,
“One was that everyone had to have fun and the other was that Lance couldn’t see my dress before I walked down the aisle. That was it.”
Her wedding dress reportedly cost just $250 and they got married at the place where they met all those years ago.

Lance Reddick’s first wife passed away in 2011
The actor is not only survived by Stephanie Reddick but also his two kids he shared with his first wife, Suzanne Yvonne Louis-Reddick. She died on November 3, 2011, a few weeks after experiencing a heart attack. She went into a coma and ultimately passed away. The actor talked about her demise in 2012 in an interview with Strombo,
“In this business, it’s so much about either getting the next job or who’s the bigger star or how much money you’re making and I’m not saying that’s what it has necessarily been about for me but you get caught up in that … and sometimes you forget that we’re mortal. It made me realize that I always have to keep in front of me why I’m doing this. I felt it more with my ex-wife because suddenly I was my kids’ only parent… I have great kids and it’s because they had a great mom.”
His first wife’s death came just five months before his second marriage in June 2011. Watch Reddick’s last performance as Charon in John Wick Chapter 4, which is all set to hit the theatres on March 24, 2023.
