Watts was asked if the characters from MCU and Sony’s Marvel characters would have crossover. He replied to ComicBookMovie, “I found Venom to be funny and I thought Tom Hardy was so great, I don’t know that they are so different.” He further said, “I think you put those two Toms together and you’re going to see something pretty special.”

Producer of Spider-Man and Chief of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige’s statement on the subject in 2017 showed that such a merger might not happen any time soon. He told that Venom was in a Spider-Man-less Universe According to him, there is no need for him in the MCU, but added “We never say never.”

The Crossover Is Up to Sony

Sometime back this month, Feige said that the crossover is “probably up to Sony.” This is because Sony holds the screen rights for both Venom and Spider-Man.

Amy Pascal from Pascal Pictures told in a recent interview that Tom Hardy’s Venom could have a crossover to the MCU. Pascal Pictures have been producers to Far From Home and Venom. This crossover is possible because of the multiverse theory that came into effect, in the latest Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Pascal said that “In this sense the multiverse is a winning idea, because it opens up endless possibilities.” He said, “We can literally do everything.”

Amy also said “I think the first thing for us to think about is: Venom has to stand on its own, Far From Home has to stand on its own,” to Screen Rant. She told that these movies are great on their own. They have great potential and endless possibilities.

An infamous leaker came up with a claim this May that Sony wants Venom in Spider-Man 3 “desperately”. The leaker has had a strong track record. This information was leaked after rumours that Disney owned Marvel was planning to put Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool in Far From Home sequel.
