SUMMARY
  • Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is going to be the next show in the ever-expanding franchise.
  • The negativity around the shows before Skeleton Crew are going to make it difficult for the series to shine through.
  • Skeleton Crew director is optimistic about the series' success, despite the odds.

The upcoming show under the Star Wars franchise has a lot of work to do besides the obligatory work of doing well in terms of box office collection. In a way, the show will have to compensate for the damage done by its predecessors to the franchise.

The show is ready to amaze the fans with its new content. However, the main responsibility is to regain what the franchise has lost due to its recent shows. A lot is at stake,+ but fortunately, the team is positive about the results.

Directed by Lee Isaac Chung and created by Jon Watts, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’s shoulders already has a ton of responsibilities to shoulder. Unlike the other shows where the only primary motive is to perform well, both commercially and rating-wise, the show has more work to do. It will have to gain the faith of the franchise’s fans before it’s too late.

Just recently, The Acolyte has come to an end and the ending has left fans largely disappointed. Unfortunately, the show has not been received that well by both the viewers as well as the critics. With a low audience score and bad reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has all but tarnished the image of the franchise.

Before The Acolyte, the franchise had brought the third season of The Mandalorian. Unfortunately, the season didn’t work well and got a very poor audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. On top of that, even The Book of Boba Fett wasn’t received whole-heartedly by the audiences.

Keeping all these factors in mind, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will have to fix the franchise’s reputation by winning back the hearts of all those fans who have been continuously disappointed in the past few years.

Although the franchise has not been doing too well lately, it might just make a comeback with its upcoming series. The Jude Law-starrer will win everyone’s hearts, or at least that is what the director Lee Isaac Chung believes.

Chung is absolutely positive that the show will turn out to be a fan-favorite because he thinks the show is something entirely different from the Star Wars universe. He told gamesradar+:

I can’t wait for people to see this thing. It’s got a lot of Jon Watts in it, and anyone who’s a fan of what Jon Watts does… He brings that beautiful perspective to this story of young people in the Star Wars universe.

Chung is also hopeful that the show will touch a lot of families as they will probably be willing to spend a lot of time with it. Only time will tell what is going to be the fate of this new show.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is scheduled to be released in late December this year.
