Steven Yeun Talks About His Exit From Thunderbolts
During a recent interview with Variety, Steven Yeun spoke about his exit from Thunderbolts. According to the celebrated actor, one of the biggest reasons for his dropout from the upcoming superhero movie is the dual writers and actors strike of 2023. The actor said-
“I think for me, time passing and things shifting kind of pulled me out of it. But Jake [Schreier], I know, is going to do an incredible job. I wanna do a Marvel movie.”
He was apologetic for his exit from Thunderbolts. He further shared-
“It took a lot of drafts on email to make sure that I conveyed the sincerity of how sorry I was to have to back out.”
On being asked which Marvel movie he would love to be a part of, he said-
“I think it’s too early to say that. I probably pissed off too many people leaving, so I’m just gonna say, ‘Thank you for having me. I have some ideas. But I heard if you put it out there, you’ll never get it, so I’ll keep it close to my chest.”
The production of Thunderbolts was halted in May 2023 due to the WGA strike. After the end of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, the production of the Marvel project is yet to start once more.
Thunderbolts is expected to release in July 2025.
