Stranger Things 4 Director Overwhelmed With Fan Appreciation For Max Escaping Vecna’s Curse Scene
SPOILER ALERT!!!
When you combine a group of plucky and youthful heroes with a bunch of corrupt government officials and some nerdy kids — including a superhero — it’s fair to say that you’re in for one heckuva ride. Isn’t that right, Stranger Things? The show has gone to great lengths to center on its heroine Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), whose powers have allowed her to take center stage in several of the show’s most iconic moments. But in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1, someone else takes the reins and drives this season towards its powerful conclusion at the end of Episode 4, “Dear Billy.”

When Max Escpaed Vecna’s Curse
Stranger Thing’s favorite Sadie Sink joins the cast during season 2 as a character named Max. It does not take long for a young girl to be noticed by the ancient villain, Vecna in the latest season. The old evil soul has been wandering about trying to find another victim, a teen ripe enough for his purpose. Unlike Demogorgons and mind flayers, Vecna is evil just for fun. He wills teens under his spell to kill them.

When Max experiences the same symptoms as Vecna’s previous victims had – she finds it necessary to prepare letters for the people she loved so they may read them after the Upside Down gets her. But writing a heart-wrenching letter for someone that can no longer be reached, specifically her late brother Billy – induces sadness unlike any other. Soon, Nancy and Robin decide to meet Victor and after having a conversation, they figure out how Victor saved his life from Vecna’s curse. As a result, before Max starts levitating over Billy’s grave, they put headphones on her. Soon, when “Running Up That Hill” plays, a portal to the sacred world opens up and that’s how she breaks free from the curse.

Dear Billy the ending of this is phenomenal, cinematography is 🔥, & max Mayfield's journey, the small montage of her remembering her friends. And ofc the kate Bush running up that hill.
