The fourth season of Stranger Things will pick up many years after the end of the previous season as the core cast of characters will return to face their most massive challenge yet. Some characters will be split up across the States, fans can also expect to see a few familiar characters, like Jim Hopper (played by David Harbour), Mike Wheeler (played by Finn Wolfhard), Will Byers (played by Noah Schnapp), and Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and a few more. Midst these familiar faces, the fourth season will also see the Demogorgon returning again – for fans who have forgotten, a brutal monster that plagued the characters throughout the series.

The fourth season of Stranger Things will also see the debut of another terrifying new villain named Vecna. Talking about the threat posed by the creature, David Harbour revealed that the presence of the monster was quite essential to keep the series alive and fresh. “Vecna is a psychological horror that I don’t think we’ve really seen,” Harbour said. “The Upside Down has been this Wild West world where there are creatures running around, there’s violence, but we’ve never seen something as calculatedly psychologically evil as this. That’s exciting because he is a true big bad that we’ve needed in the series.”

Season 4 of Stranger Things will premiere in two parts, with Volume One having a total of seven episodes and Vol. 2 comprising two feature-length installments. Vol. 1 is slated to premiere on May 27 while Vol. 2 shall arrive on July 1 on Netflix.
