Many factors contributed to the show’s massive fan base including interesting characters and an engaging storyline that features high stakes cases while furthering the experiences of the central cast members.

Suits Spinoff Update

Aaron Korsh, who ideated and brought the world of Suits to life, announced that he’s working on a spinoff of the hit show for NBC. Fans of the series have been overjoyed to hear the news and see if not the same, but similar characters back in action as they take cases and nemeses head on.

While we may not see Harvey Specter or Mike Ross back on screen, there’s a chance we might see the lead character similar to Suits’ Rachel Zane. The possibility of the character returning is bleak as the actor who played her, Meghan Markle, is now married to Prince Harry of the Royal Family.

As reported in Matthew Belloni’s newsletter, Puck, the spinoff show has started casting for the central characters. To bring a breath of fresh air, the show will see an LA location where the show will be set in the entertainment law arena.

The newsletter offers a glimpse into a bio for the show’s lead, Erica, a “30s, Black, SoCal native, and Harvard law alum. She’s jockeying to be made Head of Entertainment. She’s great at closing clients but struggles elsewhere. Smarter than everyone.”

This description has led people to think that Erica will be similar to Meghan Markle’s character since both of them are headstrong, smart women who aspire to reach the top of the pyramid. It might be a slight chance for us to see Gabriel Macht or Patrick J Adams make a cameo in the spinoff just to form a connection between the two shows and bridge the worlds of the shows.

Will The Spinoff Be As Popular As Suits?

Aaron Korsh says he wrote Suits to get a job

While we don’t have much information on the show’s storyline or characters yet, we know the creative force behind the series is Korsh who took Suits to newer heights with each season. If Korsh is on board to make the spinoff, we can entrust him to create more interesting characters that will charm the viewers.

Suits has been successful because of its intricate blend of humor and drama sequences that balance the narrative. We also got to see romance blossom between the central characters, which in turn brought a sense of reality to the story. Fans hope to see a well rounded spinoff that matches of exceeds the standards set by Suits till date.
