Amid so much happening in the DCEU world, it has come to light that the casting for the upcoming Superman: Legacy is going on at the moment. The film is set to release in 2025 and will be the first Superman movie released in the studio. Earlier movies starring Henry Cavill as the Kryptonian hero were all produced under Warner Bros studio.  Unfortunately for many fans, Cavill would not be reprising his role in the upcoming film. And as it turns out the screening tests are being carried out currently. Three actors are in the talks about taking up the role of James Gunn’s Superman. Moreover casting for Lois Lane’s character is also going on.

With the recent release of DCEU’s The Flash, many more projects are on their way. This year will also finally bring the Aquaman sequel to the audience. In addition to that, the studio is ready to bring Superman to the center of the DCEU world. Directed by James Gunn, Superman: Legacy will explore the Kryptonian hero’s reconciliation with his “heritage and upbringing”. For a while talks about the casting for the upcoming film have been a huge interest among fans.

Although at one point, many thought Henry Cavill would reprise the role for the DCEU version, however, the actor cleared up that he would not return as his Man of Steel character. This naturally broke many fans’ hearts. However, following the release of DCE U’s The Flash, it came to light that currently there are three actors in the talks of raking up the role of Superman. They are Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet, and Tom Brittany.

All three are highly suitable for the character considering their past film projects. And although Hoult has been said to be the most likable to be cast, as of now nothing has been confirmed. Furthermore casting for Lois Lane is also being done with three contenders, namely, Emma Mackey, Phoebe Dynever, and Rachel Brosnahan.

The upcoming James Gunn-directed DCEU film Superman: Legacy will see Clark Kent/Superman reconcile his human upbringing with his Kryptonian heritage. As always, being the embodiment of justice and truth, the superhero is going to take charge with kindness in a world where such values are seen as a thing of the past.

The film is the first Superman project for DCEU, but the third installment in Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. The film is set to release on July 11th, 2025.
