Ashton Kutcher was once interested in playing the Superman. Besides the actors who have already played the role, many auditioned but did not make it through due to one reason or another.  Over the past couple of decades, Superman’s cape has been passed on from Christopher Reeve to David Corenswet who has inherited the legacy from The Witcher star Henry Cavill.

Like several actors who have been eager to don the Superman suit, there is also a list of directors who have attempted to adapt the superhero’s adventures to the big screen. Rush Hour director Brett Ratner is one such filmmaker. His shot at making a Superman movie included an audition from Kutcher.

Ashton Kutcher Didn’t Think He Was Good Enough For Superman

In an interview with MTV News, Ashton Kutcher said that Keri Russell, who was auditioning for Lois Lane for Brett Ratner’s Superman adaptation, has footage of his audition as Superman. He revealed that he had put on two different outfits for the screen test, one for Clark Kent and one for Superman.

Although Kutcher was desperate to portray the superhero, he felt that he was not the right choice for it because he was lacking in physical attributes. Furthermore, he was also underconfident as his acting skills were often criticized by fans and critics alike. Considering how things have turned out recently, fans are bound to be thankful that Ashton Kutcher never got around to donning Superman’s cape as it would adversely affect the whole franchise.

Ashton Kutcher Did A Favor To Superman’s Legacy

Superman is one of the most beloved DC superheroes. Every single actor who has portrayed the hero on the screen has received a massive fan following and has been a constant subject of media scrutiny owing to the fame they have achieved due to their name being attached to Superman.

Ashton Kutcher dropped out of the run for the role of Superman, and it might be safe to say that his portrayal of the superhero would do its legacy more harm than good in light of the controversies he has been involved in. From encouraging his ex-wife Demi Moore to relapse to writing character letters in support of his now-imprisoned co-star Danny Masterson, Kutcher has been involved in quite a few daunting controversies.

The Punk’d actor along with his wife Mila Kunis wrote letters to help the case of Danny Masterson who has been sentenced to 30 years of life in prison for r*ping two women in 2003. Additionally, a video of a 25-year-old Kutcher has resurfaced on the internet in which while introducing the then 15-year-old actress Hilary Duff, he said that she was the girl everyone was waiting for to turn 18.
