The song, I Kissed a Girl is the debut single from Perry’s second studio album, One of the Boys, which quickly entered into the top charts and became a popular hit back in 2008.  Back in an interview with CNN, she revealed that her song was a real-life scenario as she “did kiss a girl, and it was nice.”

While the song was commercially a success, it received criticism from the members of the LGBTQ community however it has been considered the beginning of LGBT awareness in pop music. Due to its lyrics, it was considered offensive to the queer culture.

Back in 2018, she admitted that the lyrics did contain “a couple of stereotypes” adding that she would recreate that song. At that time, she shared, “Lyrically, it has a couple of stereotypes in it. Your mind changes so much in 10 years, and you grow so much. What’s true for you can evolve.”

She has further revealed that she has kissed several girls. She was recently in the limelight for the weird eye glitch clip that was taken during her Las Vegas show. The singer already addressed the multiple reports stating it was just a stunt.
