However, another talented actress, Vanessa Williams, will now play the role of Miranda Priestly in the  London West End stage adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada. The Dance With Me star posted videos on her Instagram account, urging fans to buy tickets and enjoy the drama.

The 2006 film had Anne Hathaway play one of the titular roles of Andy, a young college student who secured a job at the prestigious Runway magazine. Her job becomes a bit terrifying when she meets terror in the form of Miranda Priestly. She wasn’t just the editor-in-chief, but the most powerful fashion icon around.

The story remains the same in the upcoming musical, but the faces are definitely changing. Fans, after being thrilled by Williams’ casting, are demanding America Ferrera play Andy Sachs. Notably, Vanessa Williams previously played a similar role as another fashion magazine editor in the ABC series Ugly Betty. The actress said (via Variety):

“Bringing Miranda Priestly to life in the West End is an absolute dream come true. Gird your loins, folks.”
