Taylor Swift and BTS might be the two most popular artists around the globe with a massive fanbase and hit songs, but they still failed to beat Drake when it came to topping the most prestigious chart.

The One Dance rapper has a score of 9 in reaching the number-one debut on Billboard Hot 100 History, while the You Belong With Me hitmaker has had a total of 6, and the Butter singers have been at the number-one position just 5 times.

However, it is worth noting that last year, Drake and Taylor Swift met a tie with 39 BBMAs wins, as Swift went home with 10 awards and Drake just five. With these artists giving tough competition to each other, South Korea’s most beloved boy band BTS also has a history of hit songs.

Taylor Swift and BTS Failed To Surpass Drake’s Record of Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 Debuts

Half of the world has been talking about Taylor Swift since last year, not only for her new love relationship but the massive hit Eras Tour, which broke some of the mighty records in the music industry. Despite her triumphant career and unimaginable fanbase, just as BTS has, these two artists still couldn’t beat pop sensation Drake‘s record of Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 debuts

Last year, the God’s Plan singer and Love Story songstress had one of their best nights at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, marking a tie with 39 wins. However, this doesn’t mean that Swift and Drake tied in debuting at the first position, as the fan-favorite rapper has hit the Hot 100 debut nine times, followed by Ariana Grande 7 times, Taylor Swift with a score of 6, and last but not the least Kpop group BTS a total 5 times.

This means Taylor Swift and BTS still have to work hard to beat Drake, who’s an equally renowned artist and is often considered one of the best Canadian rappers of his time. As for BTS, in 2022, the band members took a break from making songs for serving in the South Korean military, and are expected to return as a group in 2025, after all seven members complete their service.

Taylor Swift is All Set For Her New Album The Tortured Poets Department

Taylor Swift has given Swifties another reason to feel excited about her, as the billionaire singer announced her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, which is set to arrive in April this year. With the upcoming album comes an opportunity for Swift to top the Billboard Hot 100 debut once again and increase her score. However, the Bad Blood hitmaker will remain behind Drake, even if she gets to the position.
