Nicole Kidman is one of the best actresses in the Hollywood entertainment industry. Over the past four decades of her career, she has established her name as one of the world’s highest-paid actresses and has won numerous accolades including an Academy Award for her portrayal of English writer Virginia Woolf in the 2002 psychological drama The Hours.

Nicole Kidman has worked with many A-list actors and is even friends with a lot of them. Not to mention, she was married to action star Tom Cruise for more than a decade. Kidman starred with fellow Australian star Russell Crowe in the 2018 movie Boy Erased, but their friendship dates back to when they both were young adults. There is one particular incident that left them pleasantly surprised.

Nicole Kidman And Russell Crowe Were Seated Next to Each Other

In late December 2019, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe were flying out of Los Angeles airport to get home on time for Christmas so that they could celebrate the holiday with their respective families. To the surprise of both of them, the Qantas flight had seated the two stars next to each other.

Russell Crowe revealed that he had no idea about this delightful coincidence until he reached the Los Angeles airport. The Les Misérables star expressed his utter joy about it, with an Instagram post that included a picture with the Big Little Lies actress and a sincere caption that read:

“Hey @qantas thanks for getting me home in time for Christmas out of the craziness that is LAX, and thanks for the pure gift of sitting me next to one of my favourite people in the universe.”

Kidman also posted the same picture on her Instagram profile, but hers also featured a filter that proved that she is more tech-savvy than her friend. Her caption also paid tribute to the thirty years of their friendship.

Nicole Kidman And Russell Crowe Debated About Their First Meeting

Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe once debated about their first encounter with each other. In an interview with Courier Mail, the two recounted their versions of the story of their meeting at a party that Kidman had hosted at her home in Darlinghurst, Sydney, along with her then-boyfriend. She said that around 500 guests had attended the party.

The Aquaman actress claimed that Crowe had done a “shoey” when he “drank champagne out of my shoe”. Crowe, on the other hand, insisted that that had not happened. He said: “I never did that. I stood behind you [Kidman] and you didn’t talk to me.”

However, none of this matters anymore as being in the same industry has made them the best of friends. Kidman went on to say:

“We are both Australian actors who are from the same generation so we knew each other, or rather, circled each other, but I got to know him slowly. Then when he came to the States I got to know him better. I have a lot of memories now”

The Batman Forever actress harbors an enormous amount of love and affection for Crowe and believes that working in the same field decade after decade has helped forge their friendship.
