“That guy has to be forgiven”: Joe Rogan Demands Chris Rock Forgive Will Smith as ‘Emancipation’ Star Has Lived a Life of “Adulation and Praise”
Joe Rogan is one of the most beloved internet personalities in the world. The UFC commentator is known for speaking his mind and primarily uses logic and facts to back his statements. On the other hand, Will Smith is now one of the most hated personalities in the world right now after the drama he caused at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. Rogan has previously blasted Smith for being so ‘emotionally fragile‘. However, it seems like the podcaster had a change of heart as he recently stood up for the American actor.
Joe Rogan thinks that Will Smith should be forgiven
Rogan hosts the podcast by the name of The Joe Rogan Experience where he invites guests from various fields. He recently invited Jon Bernthal on his podcast and they started talking about Will Smith. Rogan really stood up for the King Richard actor and thinks that he should be ‘forgiven.‘ He said, “Now thinking about it, I’m like, that guy has to be forgiven.” Rogan further mentioned how Smith is very sorry for what he did and has “deep remorse for what he’s done“.
Joe Rogan talked about how Smith’s whole world was turned upside down because of that one incident. He said Will Smith was given nothing but “adulation and praise” for his whole life. “And then all of a sudden, he has this one, in many people’s eyes, an unforgivable moment where he does something just so … stupid,” he further added.
The Former television presenter thinks only Chris Rock can forgive the Emancipation actor
Last year when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards, everyone flamed him for being so impulsive. Even Joe Rogan blasted the American actor on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. His stance on the matter was that Chris Rock did nothing wrong with Smith. Rogan said, “Chris Rock’s doing his f***ing job. … There’s a professional comedian, who’s job is to roast people“. However, it seems like the podcaster has had a change of heart since then. In his recent episode, he explained that Smith is also a “human being. You just gotta forgive him.” He further added, “And I think the real person who has to forgive him — if he wants to is Chris Rock.”
One would have expected Will Smith’s viewer count to take a hit after the infamous slapping incident. However, according to reports the streaming numbers of his 2022 movie Emancipation were huge. As for Smith, he is banned from the Oscars gala and other Academy events for 10 years.
