Meghan Markle also known as The Duchess of Sussex recently made headlines for taking the top spot in the podcast category on Spotify. It seems that Prince Harry’s wife has found a new interest that has bloomed successfully on the music platform. However, in 2020, Joe Rogan, the most successful podcaster on the internet, commented on the relationship that the Duchess of Sussex has with her husband, Prince Harry, also the Duke of Sussex.
With the first episode of Meghan Markle being such a hit, it pushed away what used to be the top contender, The Joe Rogan Experience to the second place which has got the fans of Joe Rogan shocked.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may as well be Kardashians
As the Prince uses his private aircraft as we would use public transport, he enjoys self-righteously lecturing us all about the critical need to lessen our carbon footprint and rescue the earth. On the exact same day that Meghan Markle was hosting a $500,000 baby shower in New York and flew back to London on George Clooney’s aircraft, all while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pleaded with the public to consider poverty on their Twitter handles.
Fans have pointed out that the duo has more in common with the Kardashians as compared to their royalty at this point.
The Spotify deal with the duo
In December 2020, Meghan Markle and her husband, Britain’s Prince Harry, agreed to a three-year podcast agreement with Spotify worth between $15 million and $18 million. The first podcast to launch as part of the exclusive relationship is “Archetypes” which aims to “investigate the labels that try to hold women back.”
The pair, who are starting to operate outside of the royal family, have committed to a number of other commercial and streaming ventures in addition to the Spotify arrangement.
The first episode of Archetypes, Meghan Markle’s much-awaited podcast on Spotify, was released on the streaming platform on Tuesday.
Serena Williams, a longtime friend of Meghan Markle’s who just announced her retirement from competitive tennis, came as a guest. The two talked about juggling parenting and professions as well as the discrimination that women experience in the workplace due to their aspirations.
Joe Rogan foresaw the fall of Prince Harry
In a January 2020 episode of the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, the 54-year-old Rogan sat down with the former British-American CIA agent. The two talked about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “Megxit” from the British royal family during the program.
Joe Rogan mocked the duo by altering his voice to copy the Queen of England and said: “That little American hussy has ruined my prince. It’s that little America hussy he’s hooked up with. She’s going to turn him into a Kardashian.”
Even if Joe Rogan has taken second place on the Spotify platforms for his podcast series, he is still the first when it comes to what would happen with the duo in the upcoming years, so really, he still has quite the upper hand.
