“The amount of work, the risk they take is just incredible”: After Crowning Tom Cruise as the Action God, Gal Gadot Praises Stunt Men and Women in Hollywood
Tom Cruise showed his age isn’t catching up to him anytime soon by jumping off the cliff on a bike in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
Whether it was the scene that demanded him to dive from the mountain or the one that needed Ethan Hunt to have a bout against Gabriel on the running train, the 60-year-old didn’t let any stuntman step in for him. That has never been his style.
For more than three decades, Cruise has consistently done his own stunts and built the reputation of the action god of Hollywood. Gal Gadot recently became the latest star to sing Top Gun star’s praises for the same.

Gal Gadot Shares Her Thoughts on Tom Cruise and Hollywood Stunt Heroes
Gal Gadot has returned to our screens – on Netflix to be precise – with her movie Heart of Stone, playing the role of intelligence operative Rachel Stone.
A movie filled with action sequences isn’t a new experience for Gadot, who actually made her Hollywood debut with an action gig in Fast & Furious (2009) as fearless biker Gisele Yashar.
However, when asked about her stunts scene, the Israeli actress was quick to shut down claims of going the extra mile, like Tom Cruise, and taking matters into her own hands.
“When people say: ‘I do all of my stunts by myself: ‘I’m like, ‘Really?’ … [The only exception] is Tom Cruise, who really, really does them,” Gadot told Flaunt.
She then went on to hail the stunt women and men of the industry, stating: “I always try to celebrate my stunt women and men. The amount of work and the risk they take, the dedication – everything they give is just incredible. They’ve become like a second family to me. They should be celebrated because they really make us look like the best version of ourselves.”
The Red Notice actress had seen Cruise in action up and close, as she worked alongside him in the action comedy Knight and Day. In another interview, she labeled the legendary actor as a “unicorn” of the action genre.
How Tom Cruise Reacted When Emily Blunt Struggled During an Action Movie
Cruise is unanimously considered the most reliable star in Hollywood when it comes to executing action scenes to perfection. However, he’s so used to doing his own stunts that sometimes the Jack Reacher star fails to realize how tough it is for his co-stars, who are usually more comfortable saying their lines than risking their lives by jumping off buildings and mountains.
Something similar happened during the filming of Edge of Tomorrow (Yes! another action flick) which featured Emily Blunt in the role of Rita Vrataski. The warrior woman had to wear heavy mech suits which Blunt found very painful. When she shared the experience with Cruise, his reply was hilarious. She revealed:
“It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy… The first time I put it on, I started to cry, and [Cruise] didn’t know what to do. I was like, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and just started to cry, I said, ‘I’m feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot.’ He [Cruise] just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p*ssy, OK?’.”
Thankfully Blunt also saw the funny side of it and didn’t make much of his co-star’s blunt comment, and ended up laughing on the set.
