Is The Boys’ season four heading towards darker and gorier storyline?

Prime Video revealed the highly anticipated first look of their successful and very popular show The Boys’ season four at the CCXP fan convention in Brazil which stars Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Jack Quaid, Chace Crawford, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Karen Fukuhara, etc.

Antony Starr who plays Homelander and the leader of Seven on The Boys made a cameo in the spin-off series Gen V’s finale episode Guardian of Godolkin along with Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher making a mid-credit scene appearance to set up the events for season four of The Boys. It was reported that The Boys is going to pick up its storyline a month after Gen V.

The Boys

Antony Starr as Homelander in Gen V season one had set up the whole storyline of how Starr’s character was more unhinged than he had been in the previous seasons. Homelander takes an even darker turn after Starlight exposes his toxic behavior on social media in season three and becomes the focus of the audience.

The first look of the upcoming show showcase Starlight back in action, a supe with body-splitting powers, a young girl with Xenomorph-like aliens shooting out of her mouth, and a bloody shot of Homelander smiling at the end of the trailer which simply sets tone for season four very clearly. The show is heading towards a bloodier, darker and a gorier turn and fans cannot wait for it.
