Following his debut on television in 1981, Nicolas Cage’s career in Hollywood officially began in 1982. The moment his outstanding performance in Leaving Las Vegas occurred, though, was when his Hollywood fortune totally changed. In that movie, Cage showed off his extraordinary acting skills by taking on the role of a severely damaged alcoholic. Undoubtedly, Cage is one of the performers who goes above and beyond for his performances.

When it comes to acting, the Con Air star has mastered the skill, whether it’s eating live cockroaches or going through extreme changes like dropping weight and shaving his head. During the filming of Renfield, Cage took his dedication to another level when, in a surprising twist, he accidentally consumed his own blood.

In this instance, he accidentally ingested his own blood, which was a moment that appeared to have been written for a vampire role. It seems as though Cage was transcending the performance by becoming his Dracula persona.

Cage explained that the fangs he used were real ceramic ones and that they were pretty sharp. “The fangs were genuine fangs, they were ceramic and quite pointy. So I did bite my lip a few times which made me drink my own blood,” Cage said while on the Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session.

The fact that Cage unintentionally bit his lip a few times while donning the fangs caused a number of unforeseen accidents, despite this detail appearing to be harmless. He accidentally drank his own blood as a result of these accidents, turning a routine scene into a pretty memorable and surprisingly authentic moment in his portrayal of Dracula. Even though the film which was released in the month of April 2023 did poorly at the box office, Cage will never forget the experience.
