“The first designer she met in her life was me”: Donatella Versace Reveals How She Feels About Britney Spears Changing Her Life Completely Since Their First Meeting
Talks about Britney Spears and Donatella Versace and their strong friendship bond is back again! In the most recent episode of the podcast High Low with EmRata, Donatella Versace was open and honest with the host Emily Ratajowski about the unique bond she shares with Britney Spears. In addition to talking about how she came to respect and admire Britney Spears, the fashion designer also discussed with Ratajkowski her long career, her early years in southern Italy, the 1970s fashion scene, and her late brother Gianni’s legacy.
Versace reflects on her first encounter with Spears, which occurred when she was in her twenties. She even confessed that Spears had never met a designer before; she was the first. Furthermore, the most important outfit for the singer was designed entirely by her. Yes, we’re talking about Spears’ wedding dress. Britney Spears did, in fact, wear a Versace wedding gown to marry Sam Asghari on June 9, in Los Angeles.

When Donatella Versace and Britney Spears first met
The Italian fashion designer opened up to Emily Ratajkowski on her podcast about her first encounter with Britney Spears. We don’t have a date yet, but she recalled first meeting the pop star when she was in her 20s. “She came to Milano, she was like 20 or 21… she was at the height of her career, but she was so humble,” the fashion icon continued. Donatella Versace added,
“You know, I asked her to do a few interviews for me. Of course, yes give me the list. She was sitting there doing everything, never said no to anything. She was amazing.”
The chance to create Spears’ wedding dress for her June 2022 nuptials to Sam Asghari was too good to pass up for Versace. The wedding gown worn by Spears represented her newly found independence in addition to being a modest choice for a woman who has dealt with much of her suffering and fame in the spotlight.

Versace described the process of creating Spears’ wedding attire as “amazing,” adding that it was “amazing to see Britney, so liberated, so free” in her dreamy attire.

Here comes Donatella Versace, her closest fashion friend. Designing Britney Spears’wedding attire “came naturally to me,” Versace had previously said in a statement to People Magazine.
Versace and Spears appeared to be a perfect match in a photo that Spears shared on Instagram back in March last year. Indeed, more than just a love of body-conscious clothing, bleach, and a slight spray tan, the two women have been friends for a very long time.
If so, it would be a marriage of fashion that would last forever and be truly authentic.
