Is there going to be The Flash 2?

According to reports, a sequel to Ezra Miller‘s starrer The Flash, The Flash 2 might already be in the works despite the actor facing controversies over the last couple of years. Some reports mentioned that the sequel would only get the green light from the studios if The Flash reaches a specific box office milestone. According to The Wrap, the sequel’s script is ready, and the film could happen in DC, but only if the recently released movie comes close to The Batman’s $770 million worldwide box office.

The report further mentioned that David Leslie Johnson- McGoldrick, who wrote Aquaman has written the script for The Flash 2 and the sequel could perhaps exist outside Gunn’s DC Universe, like The Batman- Part 2 and Joker: Folie à Deux. So the future of The Flash 2 depends on how well The Flash performs at the box office.

He said,

“I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And, as you said, the two Barrys – it feels like a character that was made for them.”

Adding to the praise, producer Barbara Muschietti shared with Total Film, “We’re not really familiar with that draft. I think that draft has been around for a while.” She also went ahead to say that Miller was brilliant and the most committed to The Flash during its production. She said that they were brilliant and gave everything for the role. However, Gunn back in April said that they will wait and see if Miller would return or if there is going to be a sequel.
