The Nun 2 Post Credits Affects The Next Conjuring Movie, Reveals Director
American gothic supernatural horror film The Nun 2 was released on September 8, 2023, and it is the sequel of the 2018 movie The Nun. While the first movie was directed by Corin Hardy, this one is directed by Michael Chaves. It is the ninth movie in The Conjuring movie franchise. James Wan, creator of The Conjuring Universe, is the producer of the movie.
Michael Chaves is not a stranger to the horror genre as he has directed The Curse of La Llorona in 2019 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It in 2021. He has recently revealed that the post-credits of The Nun 2 have a connection to the upcoming movie The Conjuring: Last Rites.
The Nun 2’s Post-credits are Related to The Conjuring: Last Rites
Director Michael Chaves appeared in an interview on Slash Film in which the interviewer asked him if the post-credits scene gives a lead to the events in The Conjuring: Last Rites. Chaves gave a vague response, saying that the story is still being written so there is room for many creative directions. He said:
“I think that they’re still writing it. They’re still working on it. There’s definitely Conjuring: Last Rites coming. And in terms of the exorcism of Maurice, that’s always been a center, a cornerstone marker in the timeline, and I think it’s up to interpretation. I think there’s a lot of things that need to align, so it could go a couple different ways.”
Chaves also went on to say that as a member of the audience, he would love to see a crossover of all of the demons that have ever appeared in The Conjuring universe. He also said that he doesn’t want to give any spoilers about the cast or the plot. That being said, he has assured the fans of the franchise that a “great finale” is being planned for The Conjuring: Last Rites.
