The Office Star Leslie David Baker Forced to Return $100K in Kickstarter Donations after Failed Stanley Spinoff
Three years ago, The Office star Leslie David Baker announced that he was ready to come out with a spin-off for his character after the show ended back in 2013. To start working on it he started crowdfunding back in 2020 but hardly any updates have been shared since then.
However, various reasons such as the pandemic, and the recent WGA-SAG-AFTRA strike seemingly slowed down the beginning of the production process if not completely canceled the whole thing. And as a result, Baker recently decided to give around 100k dollars back to the contributors.
Leslie David Baker Has Announced the Refunding of 100k Dollars to Contributors
After the end of one of the most famous shows The Office, its star Leslie David Baker who plays the role of Stanley, announced back in 2020 that he was starting the crowdfunding process for a Stanley spin-off.
Undoubtedly many fans were excited to learn about the whole this and were anticipating as is evident from the fact that Baker was able to collect around 336,450 dollars which was much more than the target amount of 300,000.
However, despite this, there has been no update regarding the production of the spin-off since, and it gradually made fans question more and more whether the show was ever coming to life.
Recently it came to light that the Spin-off never began with the production process ever due to many reasons including the pandemic and the recent Writer’s strike. Baker took to his Instagram recently to explain the whole situation saying,
“The final amount that we received from Kickstarter was exactly $110,629.81”
He also opened up about the reason for the stalling and shared his view on the same:
“We stand in solidarity with those in the entertainment industry and will do our part in supporting WGA and SAG during these times.”
He also announced that the 100k dollar amount would be refunded to all the fans who contributed. Therefore as far as it is concerned the spin-off would not be out anytime soon.

Written by Steve Carell and Mindy Kaling, The Office revolves around a group of typical office workers whose day-to-day life consists of ego clashes, inappropriate behavior, and tedium.
The first season of the show was released back in 2005 and lasted for 9 seasons with the last one airing seven years ago in 2013. It is one of the most famous and well-known shows out there.
